haha. dont get me wrong. im not getting married anyway (nono! awak jangan salah sangka!) maklumlah cuti skolah skang ni
oh, btw, i wanted to share my story today
i received a morning call last tuesday, 17th of nov to be exact.
i was not really a morning call, since the phone rang up at 11am. (im a night owl, u see)
the call came from one of the companies that i applied for my internship training
so, after a few words with that indian guy(whom i forgot already his name :P), we agreed to have the test today, this morning at 9 am
mama and baba dropped me off at the front of the building, while they were sending my almost-6year-laptop to fujitsu centre for services. so, i went alone to level 19, where i supposed to meet one lady called miss aivi (not an actual spelling :p)
after that, i walked inside the department ( or maybe the info counter) and were asked to fill up one employment form. soon after, the above lady invited me in to do the test. by the way, the test is compulsory to everyone who intended to apply a job here, and even to apply an internship just like me.
the test is called General Aptitude Test (on the test paper it was called as IPAT, not sure the meaning of it btw). i was with 3 others in the meeting room, including another chinese candidate.
the test contains 3 parts basically, Matrices, Number reasoning and Mathematics.
for matrices, we had to solve 'em for 13min, while the question got 15@17 there (cant remember)
number reasoning, 4min with 20 questions
and mathematics, 15 min with 10 Q
what do you expect? huhu
it quite tough
i was cursing myself for not doing any revision...
matrices--------> got to use the brain. think very very quick, but accurate
number reasoning----------> a sequence of number. guess-what-number-should-be-next kind of question
for example: 3,1,4,1,5,1 and guess whats the next number. this is easy. i let u guess :)
mathematics: you should bring the calculator. luckily the lady lend us the calculator. some basic mathematics. fractions, percentage and what not. the questions look easy, but you have to think hard in split second, or you may loose the marks. for every wrong answer, total marks will be deducted 1/4 from it. same with the previous section, number reasoning
so, to save my precious marks, i let some empty spaces on the answer sheet. ( didnt finish answering them. its hard btw. with lengthy words, and then i have to visualize at the same time. i just cannot use both sides of brain at the same time. poor me :( )
after that, we submitted the answer. the lady asked to stay and wait for the result. hows that? *heart was beating fast, faster than F1 cars i believe. sigh*
mean while, while she was marking the test paper, i was busying myself with another form of employment sheet. but basically the contents were more or less the same with the previous one. this time, i have to write a short easy. (1/3 of A4 paper to be exact) the question asked me if i was a good team player. what are the experiences and so on. so i goreng anything that was in mind.
then, a second short essay, one A4 blank paper, to write anything about me, my objectives and the relation with this company. i goreng some more. put a lot of flavors and ajinomoto inside....and walla! i think it was a good writing. i put the company's some sort of motto inside the 'ingredients' too. was it a cheat? i dunno. i think it was a plus there. haha
after finishing with the form, i submitted it to the lady again. to my surprise, she said "congratulation. wait for the manager outside. you passed the test"
yaahoo!
fyi, to meet the manager, one should pass the test. when you are granted to meet the manager, you are ready to go to the next important phase, interview session!
soon after i met the manager, mr S, a chinese guy. he interviewed me, asking this and that, which very much related to everything i wrote in my resume (luckily i prepared my certs, cover letter from my University, academic trancript and resume, although i was told to bring only my transcript and cover letter. uhuh. first impression does count kan? )
he said, i dont like to be formal. people will look stress. now, i am your friend.
so, i was a bit relief. we talked a lot. i try to talk normally. but i think i smiled most of the time when he describe about the jobs that i will experience. (lost the words sometimes. huhu)
to cut short, i am now accepted to be in his team. insyaAllah this 21st of Dec for 6-month training. i am happy to the max. Alhamdulillah~
should i immediately accept it or wait for other offers?
what do u guys think?
now, can you guess the answer of the above question i left earlier?
the answer is 6. that was the sample of question from the test. no kidding. that is the actual one
thank you IBM :) i love you lah!
ps: fefey, dulu ko parking kat ou masa intern kat tv3 kan? parking seasonal ke? mcm mane ko buat weh?

psss kuasa sejuta: kak sa kata, dia nampak ajai pagi tadi masa nak buang sampah. borak punya borak, dia penah nmpak nora danish, nasha aziz dan tah sape2 lagi kat kg sg penchala. alahai kampungku. huhu
